Life Cycle
Now let's talk about the life cycle. Newborn: The baby snow leopard cub is born small, blind, deaf, and helpless. 7 days: The cub's eyes open. 5 weeks: Starting to walk. 10 weeks: Fully weaned. 2 months: Ready to eat solid food. 3 months: Starting to do important things like hunting. 18-22 months: Moves away from its mother. 2-4 years: Ready to have cubs. Mating: During late winter a male and female travel together to mate. Pregnancy: Alone again and is pregnant for about 93-110 days until her litter is born in June Cubs born: 1-5 cubs are born and the mother hunts prey for the cubs. Then, the cycle starts all over again. Snow leopards in the wild live for 15-18 years, and snow leopards in captivity live up to 20 years.
